Prof. Dr. Fatih YILMAZ

Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz was born in Tokat in 1974. He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of English Language and Literature at Atatürk University in 1997. He completed his Master’s degree in the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MATEFL) program at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Bilkent University, graduating in 2004. He completed his doctoral degree in 2012 at the Institute of Turkology, Jagiellonian University, Poland. Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz, who served as a Lecturer in the Department of Turkology at Jagiellonian University between 2007 and 2012, was appointed Assistant Professor in 2013, Associate Professor in 2016, and Professor in 2021.
At Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, he held numerous administrative positions, including Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Director of TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center), International Student Coordinator, and Head of the Department of Foreign Languages. He currently serves as Head of the Division of Turkish Education at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.
He was appointed Rector of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University upon the decision of our President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He is proficient in English, has an intermediate level of Polish, and has a beginner level of German and Arabic. He is married and the father of three children.
